Cleaning unit

Depending on the level of contamination, we recommend:

Cleaning the heat exchanger and ventilation unit

Whenever working on the electrical equipment on the ventilation unit, switch off the mains fuse in the fuse box and secure it against being accidentally switched back on.

  1. Loosen service cover’s screws. Carefully remove service cover.

When lifting or taking off the service cover, a second person should assist given the weight of the cover.

  1. Remove the hosing between the float switch and condensate tank.
  2. Remove condensate tank and crossbar.
  3. Loosen lateral guide rails.
  4. Remove punched tape on heat exchanger.

DANGER! Securely hold the heat exchanger because it may fall out.

  1. Pull heat exchanger down and out of the unit.
  2. Clean heat exchanger: Vacuum the sensitive heat exchanger with a standard vacuum cleaner. Thoroughly flush enthalpy heat exchangers with water or soapy water, drip off and let them dry well.
  3. Replace the heat exchanger.
  4. Secure punched tape to fix heat exchanger in place.
  5. Slide lateral guide rails back against the heat exchanger and fix in place.
  6. Put cross bar and condensate tank back into the unit.
  7. Connect condensate tank with float switch of condensate lift pump.
  8. Check function/seal integrity of condensate tank.
  9. Close the central and two side service covers.
  10. Switch on the ventilation unit.

Do not damage sealing strip when pulling out/sliding in the heat exchanger. Do not move the ventilation unit. Replace damaged seals.
